ArgusTAK New Feature Announcement – External Federating
Quote from David Schellenberg on May 5, 2026, 11:56 amFederation has always worked beautifully inside ArgusTAK. Today it works outside, too.
ArgusTAK now speaks the standard TAK Server v2 federation protocol, which means you can peer with any modern TAK Server out there — a partner agency’s self-hosted deployment, an allied unit’s tactical cloud, or a server in your ops center.
What is now available:
- Live CoT, bidirectional or one-way — positions, chat, markers, all flowing under standard TAK v2 over TLS.
- Data package federation — mission files, imagery, attachments, with independent controls so you can share live tracks but keep mission files local (or vice versa).
- Per-peer trust — every external TAK Server is pinned by SHA-256 cert fingerprint
- Live operational view — connection up/down, inbound and outbound events per second, last-comms timestamps, all on one tab.
- In, Out, DP-In, DP-Out toggles per peer — pause traffic instantly without tearing down the relationship or the trust chain.
Setup is pretty quick. We hand you a CA cert and two ready-to-paste CoreConfig.xml snippets. You send them to the remote admin, they send back a cert fingerprint, and you click Add peer. The link goes live.
You can get this rolling inside the ArgusTAK admin screen…
